18th Annual SAG Awards

So many dresses!!! And what a feast for the eyes!
The 18th Annual SAG Awards continues the awards season, and has provided with many beautiful dresses.
So, I am just going to just jump in with the dresses that I loved.

Julianna Margulies, not only do I love the color, but the detailing is exquisite.

Kaley Cuoco looks so soft and feminine in this mint colored gown.

Kelly Osborne gets it right at the SAGs in this figure flattering gown. The                                                                    color doesn't clash with her hair color, (which BTW I do love).

Viola Davis is STUNNING!! The gold detailing is subtle enough to not take over, but adds that perfect element of drama that makes this dress beautiful.

Michelle Williams redeems herself at this awards. The color is the perfect shade of red that compliments her skin and gives her that youthful edge that was missing last time.

There was no shortage for...."uninspired" dresses (or in one case a jumpsuit). I find myself amazed that they look in the mirror and think..."Yes, this is the one."

Kristin Wiig, Not only plain, but with the halter neck, why throw in a thick black choker?

Angelina Jolie, No secret that she needs to gain a little weight, but this dress is not doing her any favors. It just makes her look even skinnier, with the draping neckline.

Jenna Fischer is just looking frumpy and drab in this dress. Something more figure flattering would have done wonders.

Rose Byrne is a beautiful woman, and I do give her props for thinking outside the box, but I feel it is just way to outside the box. Maybe for a less formal event this could have worked.

Did any of you watch the red carpet or the awards show?
So what did you guys think of the fashion from the SAG Awards? Any faves or not so fave?

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick Review

I've been looking for a fuchsia lipstick as well as a blue gloss. Well, today I saw wet n wild had a fuchsia WITH blue undertone built right in.

Wet n Wild's Fuchsia with Blue Pearl:

This lipstick only cost me $1! And yet it glides on and feels like a lipstick that cost more!
Wet n Wild says this is a conditioning forumla with aloe and vitamins A and E. And I admit it is not at all drying, and has left my lips feeling rather nice.

The color payoff was spot on and seemed very much true to what I saw in the tube. And you can see the blue reflecting in the light, which I personally love.

I think it is a beautiful color on the lips, however I put it on without lip liner and as a result it does tend to bleed.

It does seem to have a bit of staining, not sure if this was intended or not. After washing the swatch off, I noticed a slight pink left behind and only with makeup remover did I finally get it completely off. I don't mind this because to me, I feel this helps with the lasting power of the color.

All in all, I like this lipstick. And for the price, (just a dollar) you really can't lose.

Have you ever tryed Wet n Wilds lipstick? And if so, how did you like it?

My Purse Collection

Hey guys!! One of my favorite fashion accessories are purses. They always fit, no matter what size you are, and that is what makes purses the ultimate fashion item!

I want to share my personal purse collection, not to be showy, but to share my passion for this ultimate fashion accessory!

Here are some of my most used bags layed out:

And here are some I pulled out of the bunch to stand as my top picks:

If I had to pick just ONE purse to use forever it would be this yellow Antonio Melani.

This is a gorgeous Antonio Melani red clutch.

I really love these little guys, they are a triple threat. Used as a clutch, wallet or small purse.
The top 3 are by Antonio Melani and the blue by Brahmin.

I had to pick this newer model of Antonio Meliani for the color, with the light blue and hue of green give it a unique finish. Like sea foam.

Another purse I really enjoy is this Jessica Simpson flower bag.

A spring/summer fave by the Sak.

Antonio Melani in a maroon-ish shade.

Hobo International clutch in faux snakeskin.

A bag that has given me alot of compliments by Nicole Lee

What are some of your favorite brands of purses?

Cute Blog Award!!!

I am thanking April for this. Check her blog out here for some great makeup tutorials and reviews.
This is really a great thing, it really motivates me to not just keep making blogs, but to try and improve myself and my blogs. So thank you so much!

So, part of this award is to answer some questions. Sooo, here we go:

 1. What is your go-to makeup brand?
It is hard to say I have just one, but if I HAD to pick, it would be Bare Escentuals. I was introduced to the                   brand when my sister did my makeup for my wedding day. Been using it ever since.

 2.   What was your favorite fashion trend of 2011?
High waisted jeans with the flairs and sheer tops.

 3.  What is your favorite dessert?
CHEESECAKE!

 4.  Favorite color?
Peach. I just love everything about it.

 5. What is your middle name?
Michelle.

 6. What's the last song you listened to?
Deluka Cascade. I love this group, their music is just awesome.

 7. Cats or dogs?
I love them both. That is all.

Something you didn't know about me is....I can be quite the tomboy. I love guns, archery, and to fish, to name a few. I always found boys more interesting and fun to hang out with as a child. And that has followed me throughout my life. I know how to change my own brakes too!

I'd like to recognize the following blogs with this award:

Miss L
AbnormalAllure
bookgirl12

To the wonderful girlies above, please create a blog post answering the above questions, link my blog in your post, add the button to your blog, and of course pass it along!

1970's inspired makeup!

While browsing through spring trends, I ran across this photo:

I instantly wanted to recreate it myself. My purpose wasn't to make it exact, but similar.

Here is my version of this look:

The products I used:

Maybelline Dream Mousse in Rose petal, L'oreal Telescopic liner, Estee Lauder Projectionist mascara, MAC prep & prime, Clinique lipstick in Pink-a-boo. And BH Cosmetics 88 matte palette:

I had fun playing around with colors I don't normally wear in a way I have never done before.  I hope you enjoy!

What do you think of the look? Would you ever wear colors like this? Or in a vintage style?

Here is my video on this look!

The 69th Annual Golden Globes: Best and Worst

Last week set the awards season off with the People's Choice Awards..now in full swing with the Golden Globes tonight. With so many dresses, my head was spinning! I will start off on a positive. My picks of the Best Dressed! Sarah Hyland in a timeless gold strapless vintage Dolce & Gabbana gown that had a mini train and a black Swarovski clutch.
Jessica Alba in Gucci pale lilac silk charmeuse embroidered evening gown and jewelry by Bulgari with a Roger Vivier clutch.
Angelina Jolie in a champagne satin one-shoulder Atelier Versace gown with a splash of red at the neckline with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a Christian Louboutin clutch.
Dianna Agron in a red Giles Deacon gown with elaborate laser-cut swans and Fred Leighton jewelry. This is a work of art.
Now for my picks of worst dressed. I love Michelle Williams, but this custom Jason Wu midnight blue devour velvet gown did nothing for her. It looks to mature and just boring for her.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier gown, Jimmy Choo heels and Bulgari jewelry. I don't even..It is just wrong. Tied dyed ball gown?
Zooey Deschanel is a quirky, fun girl, but this dark green silk Prada dress with an open back with black and emerald green glass pearls and ivory pearl embroidered collar, is not figure flattering at all. The squared design at the waste makes her look boxy. She also wore a emerald clutch and platform pumps, and jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels.
So, there you have it! I will be looking for more hits and misses with the SAG awards! What was your favorite and not so favorite of the Golden Globes?

I went to my favorite place today! The Library!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the library. I look forward to my biweekly visit so I can spend countless hours looking through shelves of books, and sitt...
